Take-A-Kid Fishing
"?

It is a Bemidji area based organization whose mission is to enrich children through exposure to the outdoors with the great sport of fishing.

  • Fishing is a fantastic way to spend quality time with a child, interacting with them in meaningful ways.

  • Fishing is an opportunity to teach kids about the diversity of nature and our dependence on a healthy environment.

  • Fishing is a lifetime sport that will provide many hours of recreation, relaxation and time with family and friends.

  • Fishing is a physical activity that helps develop coordination skills without being overly strenuous or competitive and gets them outdoors.

  • Fishing is a way to spark interest in learning more about how to fish, the fish themselves and nature by reading, exploring the internet and discussing their experiences with peers.

Nominate A Kid For Camp

Each year four (4) kids are selected from the participants of the Take-A-Kid Fishing Group.  These nominations come from the guides.  Guides are reminded to turn in the nominations.  This year the guilds will receive a card for these recommendations in their guide kit.

Recommendations are not based on income or gender, but the participant must be at least 11 years old. The camp fees are paid for by the Take-A-Kid Fishing Chapter and there is no cost to the child to attend the camp.  The camp
is located in the Park Rapids, Minnesota area.  Transportation to and from the camp is either provided by a volunteer or family member.
